Self Help Tips For Diaper Rash

1.  Avoid using plastic diapers.  Instead, use a breathable diaper such as Huggies®.

2.  As an alternative to baby wipes, try using a bowl of warm water and paper towels.

3.  Use a diaper rash ointment at every diaper change such as A+D Ointment®.

4.  Apply diaper rash ointment using powder free latex gloves.  (Most hospitals use Safe Skin®.)

5.  During bath times, apply our honey oatmeal soap to a wash cloth first, before wiping down the infected area.  Do this only once, using a separate wash cloth to clean baby's skin.

6.  For severe diaper rash, when the skin is oozy, (like acne) consult your doctor about using a triple antibiotic ointment such as Neosporin®, which is available at Walgreens. It's the Original Neosporin Neomycim and Polymyxin B Sulfate and Bacitracin Zinc First Aid Antibiotic Ointment.
