Extra Virgin Honey

Extra Virgin Honey™ comes directly from Honey Acres'® own hives with as little handling and exposure to as little light and heat as possible. The only way to get fresher and healthier honey would be to get it directly from the hive yourself!  And, as you may know, honey only comes from virgin bees.

How to Store and Use Extra Virgin Honey™

Excessive heat and light adversely affect the active enzymes in Extra Virgin Honey™.  The best way to store Extra Virgin Honey™ is in the protective tube; store at room temperature.

Extra Virgin Honey™ comes to you in a crystallized form.  You can easily spread or spoon this delicious product on your favorite foods.  If you require liquid honey, warm gently (never over 96° F) to liquefy.

Extra Virgin Honey™, nature's perfect food, will never spoil.  It will last indefinitely.

Uses for Extra Virgin Honey™

Extra Virgin Honey™ can be used like other honeys to sweeten your favorite foods.

Extra Virgin Honey™ can be used on skin rashes, burns, and abrasions.  Simply spread small amount lightly over affected area; cover with a bandage or dressing.

Honey Promotes Healing.
A study by Robert Bloomfield published in the "Journal of the American Medical Association" reports, "Applied every 2 to 3 hours under a dry dressing, honey promotes the healing of ulcers and burns better than any other local applications.  It can also be applied to other surface wounds, including cuts and abrasions..."

Extra Virgin Honey™ can be used as a skin moisturizer.  Simply apply the honey directly from the jar to your skin.  Wash off with warm water for soft clean skin.

Extra Virgin Honey™ can be applied directly to sore gums and canker sores for quick relief.  (Note:  honey should not be used for consumption for small children under the age of two.)

Honey for your Better Health

Honey as a treatment for stomach ulcers:  A team of researchers from the University of Waikato in New Zealand studied whether honey could benefit those affected with H. pylori bacterium, known to cause gastric ulcers.  Within three days, honey stopped the growth of the bacterium colonies!

Honey has anti-cancer properties:  Recent studies by Gribel and Pashinskii indicated that honey possessed moderate anti-tumor and pronounced anti-metastatic effects in five different strains of rat and mouse tumors.  Furthermore, honey potentiated the anti-tumor activity of chemotheraputic drugs such as 5-fluorouracil and cyclophosamide.

Honey may decrease recuperation time after workouts:  A research study presented June 22, 2000 at the annual National Strength and Conditioning Association meeting suggests that combining honey with a protein supplement may boost post-workout recuperation and favor better blood sugar maintenance after exercise.  The study was presented by the University of Memphis Exercise and Sport Nutrition Laboratory and funded by the National Honey Board.
